Mozambique Airlines (LAM) figures seen by ‘Carta’ show that the company transported 37,952 passengers in June, 10% up on the 34,582 figure for May.
In June 2020, LAM transported only 10,695 passengers.
In terms of passenger traffic in June this year, the five best routes were Maputo-Nampula, with 8,594; Maputo-Beira (7,768); Maputo-Tete (5,072); Maputo-Pemba (4,322); and Maputo-Quelimane (3,807).
The country’s flagship carrier in June posted an operational punctuality index of 78% for a total for 656 departures, a 9% improvement on May’s 69% for 588 departures.
Among the stopovers analysed for punctuality in June 2021, the best were Chimoio, with 97%; Johannesburg, with 89%; and Dar-Es-Salaam, also with 89% punctuality.
