Residents of Katembe district in Maputo city are contesting the resumption of toll charges announced by the highway concessionaire, Miramar reports.
The Mozambique Road Network (REVIMO) said yesterday that it had recently been working to raise awareness among users, and that many welcome the idea of a user-pays system. However, this information does not tally with what can now be seen in Katembe, where several people are protesting against the measure.
Regarding the Costa do Sol tolls, REVIMO has postponed the resumption until tomorrow Tuesday, and it is also still preparing for the start of toll charges at the Zintava and Matola-Gare tolls from 1 February and from March for the Cumbeza tolls.
