Mozambique: Irregularities limited credibility of elections – CPLP Observation Mission| AIM report
Quelimane Central Hospital (HCQ) , this Thursday morning announced that Joel Amaral, a public figure and politician known in cultural circles as MC Trufafa, is now considered “stable”, and the wounds resulting from the attack he suffered are healing satisfactorily.
“We can confirm that patient Joel Amaral is no longer in intensive care. His progress has been positive and, at this moment, he is under medical observation in the general ward,” a hospital spokesperson said, without giving details about the prognosis or likely date of discharge.
Joel Amaral was recently the target of a violent attack whose motivation has not yet been clarified by the authorities.
The situation caused a strong social and political commotion, generating multiple expressions of solidarity and raising questions about the safety of public figures who play an active role in political protest.
Sources close to the family indicate that, despite the psychological shock suffered, Amaral remains conscious and determined to collaborate with the authorities as soon as he is authorized to do so by the medical services.
