CIP Mozambique Elections: New Government might include members of the opposition

Joaquim Chissano, former President of the Republic of Mozambique and of the Africa Forum of Former African Heads of State and Government, is today (July 7) attending the funeral of Kenneth David Kaunda, former President of Zambia, who died on 17 June.
The ceremony will take place at the National Monument in Lusaka, a space reserved for the interment of the country’s top dignitaries, a statement issued by the former president’s office indicates.
The programme includes a mass in the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross preceding the burial of the founder of the Republic of Zambia, who dedicated his life to the fight against colonial rule and racial discrimination in Africa, the statement adds.
The event will be attended by the President of Zambia, Edgar Lungu, and former President Rupiah Banda, among others.
Kenneth Kaunda, who died at the age of 97, ruled Zambia from independence in 1964 until 1991.
