The National Registry and Notary Service will introduce the new unique Civil Identification Number (NUIC) this year, to the advantage of all Mozambicans.
Births, marriages, deaths, memberships and other such matters will be duly registered, with the aim of improving the service to the public. The hope is to put an end to the long queues at notaries across the country.
The NUIC is one of the changes to be introduced as part of the modernization of registries and notary services under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs.
The changes to be introduced also include automated payments via ATMs.
