Minister of the Interior Paulo Chachine has announced that his ministry will create an Internal Affairs service to monitor the actions of the police, in compliance with guidelines laid down by the President of the Republic.
Paulo Chachine says that police institutions should serve as places to welcome and solve the problems of the population.
“Our institutions should be a place to welcome and solve problems; people should feel welcomed when they come to us. We may not have an immediate solution, but the citizen should say the following: ‘I was well attended to’,” he said.
Paulo Chachine was talking to Radio Mozambique after receiving the Minister of the Interior portfolio from his predecessor, Pascoal Ronda.
