Brazilian industrialists intend to support the industrialization process and the dynamization of the production chains of Mozambican companies, said the Brazilian ambassador in Maputo, Ademar Seabra, after a meeting with the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA).
“My work at the Brazilian Embassy in Maputo is to mobilize, encourage and incentivize Brazilian entrepreneurs in these various areas that were mentioned so that they join forces and form partnerships,” Ademar Seabra declared after this Thursday’s meeting, highlighting the common interest in areas such as health, renewable energy, agriculture, gas, infrastructure and creative industries.
According to the Brazilian ambassador, the meeting with the president of the CTA, Álvaro Massingue, represents the “kick-off of the collaboration between the two countries, with the private sector as the central axis of development.
Ademar Seabra said that the Brazilian experience can be an added value in the process of industrialization and dynamization of Mozambican production chains.
“Brazil is currently the leader in the production of 12 products and the leader in the export of eight global agricultural products, all of which is a result of the action of the Brazilian private sector,” the diplomat stressed.
João Carlos Frade, head of the Sustainability, Circular Economy and Climate Change department at the CTA, highlighted, in turn, Mozambique’s interest in the Health area, namely in the local production of medicines, one of the topics discussed at the CTA meeting with the Brazilian ambassador, and also with the Ambassador of Egypt, at a separate meeting witch was also held at the CTA headquarters on Thursday morning.
“We have several Brazilian laboratories in Mozambique, and we are interested in seeing this area grow. We would like to see Mozambique producing medicines,” he said.
For the Brazilian ambassador, this partnership aims to generate employment, attract investment and promote social inclusion through the integration of marginalized populations into the formal economy.
