The Brazilian embassy will deliver a humanitarian donation to the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) in Maputo this Friday to assist the populations affected by Cyclone Chido in the province of Cabo Delgado.
The donation consists of one ton of dehydrated nutritional meals and five water purifiers, with the capacity to produce 5,000 liters of drinking water daily, according to a note in the inauguration of “Notícias Online”.
Brazil, through this solidarity action, reinforces the historical and fraternal ties that unite the two countries in the humanitarian, technical and scientific cooperation that the country has been undertaking for more than four decades in Mozambique.
According to the document, the event will be attended by representatives of INGD, the Brazilian embassy and the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP), which will facilitate the installation of the aforementioned equipment in Cabo Delgado.
Humanitarian assistance was made possible with resources from the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) in coordination with the Mozambican government and INGD, to alleviate the situation of those left homeless by the catastrophe.
