Indian Ocean Ship for SAGAR (Security & Growth for All in the Region) INS Sunayna arrived today at Nacala port carrying 44 Navy personnel from 9 countries.
This unique initiative aims to bring together regional navies and harness collective capabilities.
During the three-day visit, the Ship will conduct various outreach programmes and joint training events including Joint EEZ Surveillance of Mozambican waters.
INS Sanyana had participated at the AIKEYME – Africa India Key Maritime Engagement – multilateral naval exercise in Tanzania involving India, Tanzania, Mozambique, Comoros, South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, Kenya and Djibouti. This initiative aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India promoting Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.
The visit of INS Sunayna to Mozambique reaffirms the close bond of friendship, interoperability and further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two maritime nations which also has completed 50 years of establishment of diplomatic relations this year.
