Another atmospheric low pressure system has formed northeast of the island of Madagascar, in the southwest Indian Ocean basin.
According to the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM), it could, by Monday, March 4th, evolve into a moderate tropical storm.
“However, it does not yet pose a danger to the Mozambique Channel or to the continental part of our country,” INAM advises.
Meteorologists say they are monitoring the evolution of the system, and ask people to continue seeking out meteorological information and warnings issued by the competent authorities.
A developing tropical low SE of #Seychelles will eventually turn SW by Friday & gradually strengthen over the next few days. System can become a TS before threatening #Madagascar early next week. pic.twitter.com/ddxIl5er4r
