The National Inspectorate of Economic Activities (INAE) has ordered the temporary closure of the Limpopo Supermarket in Xai-Xai, Gaza province, for lack of compliance with Covid-19 prevention measures.
The closure of the provincial capital’s largest commercial establishment took place on Monday afternoon (01-03), after clusters of customers were found inside and outside the economic unit.
The INAE provincial delegate in Gaza, Gabriel Chongo, said that, in addition to the concentration of customers inside the establishment, the owners of the supermarket were not implementing measures such as physical distancing and hand sanitising for either customers or employees.
Chongo added that the sale of expired products had also weighed on the closure of the establishment, remarking that, due to the increase in the number coronavirus infections in the province, the INAE was redoubling its awareness campaigns among economic agents.
