Mozambique: Hunger threatens 33,000 households in Búz district

Around 33,000 families are under threat of hunger in Búzi district, Sofala province, due to poor agricultural production resulting from the drought caused by the El-Niño climate phenomenon, Radio Mozambique reports.
Lack of rain has meant that close to 200,000 hectares, mainly of corn and rice, are considered lost.
According to the director of the District Service for Economic Activities in Búzi, Sidónia Enosse, the impact of the calamitous situation is even greater in Guara-guara, Banduè, Chissinguana, Nharongue and Estaquinha, where the food crisis is already imminent.
