Committed to its mission of being an active player in the development of the Mozambican economy, the leadership of the Absa Group was received, separately, by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, by His Excellency Max Tonela, Minister of Economy and Finance, and His Excellency the Governor of the Bank of Mozambique, Rogério Zandamela.
During the visit to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, the opportunities and prospects for sustainable development of the Mozambican economy and society were addressed. In turn, in the meeting with His Excellency, Max Tonela, Minister of Economy and Finance, the Absa Group’s Management had the opportunity to learn about the Ministry’s vision of the local, regional and international economic scenario. Above all, Absa’s leadership reaffirmed the Bank’s position as a partner committed to working with the Government in the country’s economic development.
The visit to the Governor of the Bank of Mozambique, Rogério Zandamela, aimed to assess Absa’s participation in the Mozambican financial system, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to the development and reinforcement of the Mozambican financial system.
This action demonstrates confidence in the Mozambican market and the will to promote solutions that boost the country’s growth. For Pedro Carvalho, Chief Executive Officer of Absa Bank Mozambique, this visit allowed Absa’s leadership to understand in detail the country’s development potential and reaffirm the Bank’s strategy to continue to grow in Mozambique.
Absa Bank Mozambique, through its international presence, is also positioned as a key partner for attracting foreign investment to Mozambique, as well as for promoting commercial activity across borders. This point was especially highlighted in meetings that the Absa Group leaders held with top managers of some of the largest companies operating in the country.
