Three buses owned by Nagy Investments, Sekeleka and Etrago were fired on Monday afternoon in Chiraba district by men presumed loyal to Renamo, after passing Zero in the direction of the Zambezi River, reports Diário da Zambézia .
Three people were injured in the attack, the driver of the Nagy bus and two civilians, were evacuated to the Mopeia Health Centre.
The Diário da Zambezia’s source said that the attack came “from nowhere” and took place close to a checkpoint where the police, Tax Authority and other forces are present.
The same source said that a man in the road signalled light vehicles to increase speed and put distance between themselves and the three buses following them which were then attacked.
The area has been the scene of regular bus attacks recently.
