Mozambique: President swears in new governor of Inhambane province

The President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, begins a state visit to Mozambique today, with cooperation between the two countries on the agenda.
Sissoco Embaló arrives in Maputo early this Wednesday afternoon (19-06), and will stay until Friday.
On the first day of his visit, the Guinean president will be received by his Mozambican counterpart, Filipe Nyusi, in accordance with the programme released by the Presidency of Mozambique.
The two heads of state will, after a private meeting and official talks between delegations from both countries, preside over the signing ceremony of legal instruments of cooperation between the two states.
President Nyusi this evening hosts his Guinean counterpart to a state banquet at the Ponta Vermelha Palace, at the end of which the two heads of state are scheduled to speak.
On Thursday, Sissoco Embaló will lay a wreath at the Monument to Mozambican Heroes, then proceed to Maputo City Hall, where he will be awarded the Key to the City of Maputo.
Thursday’s programme includes a visit to the Centre for Strategic Analysis of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and a visit to the Mozambican parliament, the Assembly of the Republic, where Embaló will meet members of the Standing Committee and have a courtesy meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, Esperança Bias.
The second day of Sissoco Embaló’s state visit to Mozambique ends with a visit to the port of Maputo.
