The reopening of churches is still awaiting evaluation by the Ministry of Justice, and may happen on a case-by-case basis.
The spokesman for the Council of Ministers and Deputy Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Filimão Swazi, also said that, in the context of the State of Emergency extension, the country’s Defence and Security Forces would be called upon only if there was disobedience.
While giving his report on yesterday’s Council of Ministers session, Filimão Swazi took the opportunity to explain in detail some of measures taken under the state of emergency, but consideration of the reopening of churches, he said, had not yet begun.
The cabinet session decided to review the attributions of the National Library and the National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries, and also to change the name of the Development Office of the Second Millennium Challenge Program Compact-Mozambique to the Development Office of Compact II.
