The Mozambican government yesterday approved amendments to the State of Emergency, easing restrictions on the public transport sector.
The government has relaxed the limit of one third of the usual number of passengers in public and semi-collective passenger transport vehicles, and will now allow them to circulate obeying the normal limits [each vehicles’ seating capacity].
The amendments approved yesterday similarly withdraw the ban on motorbike and bicycle taxi services, which are allowed to function again, provided that drivers and clients use protective face masks.
The sixth extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers yesterday also approved the mandatory wearing of protective face masks in all public transport vehicles, and anywhere people are gathered together.
