The Mozambican government is to increase the minimum Civil Service and Combatants retirement pension to 2,920 meticais (€42.20), by decision of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday.
The new amount of 2,920 meticais also becomes the minimum value of the participation and social reintegration bonus and the combatant’s survival and blood pensions, Council of Ministers spokesperson Filimão Suaze announced.
Without spelling out exacts figures, the Council of Ministers also approved a 10% increase in the disability pension in its components relating to military rank or post and the additional disability allowance and benefit due to incapacity proven by a medical board.
The new increases cover pensions that are below a third of the minimum state wage, Suaze said.
The minimum wage paid in public service in Mozambique is 8,758 meticais (€126.5 euros).
