The suspension of radiology services at the Gorongosa Health Centre in Sofala three years ago as a result of equipment failure is cause for concern among patients who need assistance, Rádio Moçambique reports today..
They now have to go to Nhamatanda district or the cities of Beira and Chimoio.
Gorongosa residents say that radiology services are sorely needed and are asking for the resolution of the long-standing problem.
The clinical director of the Gorongosa Health Center, Sambo Mulandeza, says that everything is being done to get the health unit X-ray service back up and running as soon as possible.
“For cases of severe or minor trauma that require observation, it has been a huge complication,” he says.
