The German government will disburse about 45 million Euros (52.8 million dollars at the current exchange rate) to fund projects carried out by the Zambezi Valley Agency, based in the central Mozambican province of Tete.
According to Ronald Münch, German ambassador to Mozambique, who was speaking to reporters during the 60th edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM 2025), the agency brings together all the potential of the central region, in the sectors of agribusiness, tourism, fishing and sustainable forestry.
“We already know that the agency plays a very important role in the development of various sectors, and we are very pleased that the German government, through its development agencies, is a partner of the Zambezi Agency, because our commitment is to facilitate the development of various sectors, especially agriculture, for the well-being of the people”, he said.
The diplomat explained that the “what we now have, in the planning stage, is a large-scale project to finance the projects of the Zambezi Agency and the businesses. These projects begin with the planning of an idea, through the development of small businesses, certification for export, and even the export of these projects.”
“Germany will continue supporting the Zambezi Valley Development Agency through its financing lines”, he added.
