A freight train derailed at around 9:50 p.m. on Monday night (03-10) near Aldeia da Barragem on the Limpopo line in Chókwè district, Gaza province.
Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM – Ports and Railways of Mozambique) says that the freight train was heading from Maputo to Chicualacuala.
The derailment resulted in one of the 18 tanker wagons in the composition capsizing. There were no casualties.
The line was temporarily closed for re-railing work, and the line was expected to reopen in the early hours of Tuesday, CFM announced.
