The Governor of Cabo Delgado province, Valige Tauabo, on Monday laid the first stone for the construction of the Senga road in the Administrative Post of Palma Sede, Palma district.
The construction of the road is being sponsored by TotalEnergies as part of its social responsibility programme.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Tauabo said that the construction of the road would improve the connection of Senga to other parts of the district, and thus facilitate economic activities.
“For this reason, we want to ask for everyone’s collaboration, in order to support the construction of this infrastructure. Do not allow actors of bad faith to create disturbances that prevent the rapid construction of this road,” Governor Tauabo urged.
The road will be made of concrete block pavers and works include the construction of a bridge over the Senga river, which in rainy weather makes the movement of people and goods difficult.
The provincial governor also delivered medicines for the treatment of conjunctivitis.
