The former President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, participated last week in the city of Maputo, in the General Assembly of the Order of Engineers of Mozambique, marking his return to the professional association, of which he is a member, as a ports and railways engineer.
Speaking to journalists, Filipe Nyusi highlighted the importance of engineering in the socio-political and economic development of the country, and urged members to lend their knowledge in the area of innovation in various industrial areas.
Nyusi said that Mozambique was experiencing remarkable growth and that national engineers were prepared to make their contribution.
“We will continue to motivate Mozambique’s development by choosing specific themes to promote growth, both qualitative and quantitative, in all sectors of activity. In this context, we must continue to invest in technical and professional training to obtain more engineers,” he stated.
In turn, the President of the Order of Engineers of Mozambique, Feliciano Dias, stated that the country has engineers for all sectors of activity, while also praising the fact that higher education institutions that teach engineering courses are following the regulations for admission to the order. “The challenge is that we have not yet implemented this throughout the country and in all institutions,” Dias pointed out.
