The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Pacheco, starts a five-day working visit to the Russian Federation today within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations and friendship.
During his visit, Minister Pacheco will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and meet Russian businesspeople and entrepreneurs, with the aim of deepening political, economic, business and social cooperation between the two countries.

He will also meet Mozambicans living in Russia.
During his stay in the Russian Federation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation will attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), taking place from Thursday to Saturday.
This visit was preceded by the visits of Minister Serguei Lavrov to Mozambique last March and that of the Minister of Defence, Atanasio Mtumuke to Russia, in April of this year, as well as the holding of the first session of an intergovernmental committee on economic and technical-scientific cooperation between the Mozambican and Russian governments.

SPIEF-2018
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, due on May 24-26, is one of the world’s key economic discussion formats. It is held under the patronage of the Russian president. Traditionally it gathers foreign heads of state and government, key public figures, heads of international organisations and major companies, leading world experts and analysts and media.
