Xi Jinping holds talks with Mozambique’s Prime Minister in Beijing

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, is participating in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York on behalf of the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi.

This year’s UN session takes place under the motto: “Building resilience through hope – to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainability, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalize the United Nations.”
Verónica Macamo will attend several UN general debate sessions, where the heads of country delegations will deliver speeches focused on peace and security, climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic and economic, social and global development.

The Mozambican Head of Diplomacy will also take part in high level meetings, such as the Commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action on Reparations, Racial Justice and Equality for People of African Descent. and the High-Level Plenary Meeting to commemorate and promote the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
Minister Macamo’s agenda also includes bilateral meetings with ministers of foreign affairs from several countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Europe, for the exchange of views and information on matters of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

A Ministra dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Cooperação, Verónica Macamo, participa , em Nova Iorque, na Sessão da Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas, em representação do Presidente da República, Filipe Nyusi.
O evento decorre, este ano, sob o lema: “Construindo a resiliência através da esperança, recuperar da COVID-19, reconstruir de forma sustentável, responder às necessidades do planeta, respeitar os direitos das pessoas e revitalizar as Nações Unidas” .
Verónica Macamo estará presente em várias sessões do debate geral da ONU, onde os chefes das delegações de vários países irão proferir discursos centrados na paz e segurança, mudanças climáticas, pandemia da Covid-19 e no desenvolvimento económico, social e global.
A Chefe da Diplomacia moçambicana fará parte das Reuniões de Alto Nível da Assembleia Geral da ONU comemorativa do vigésimo aniversário da Adopção da Declaração e Programa de Acção de Durban e da Assembleia Geral evocativa do Dia Internacional para a Eliminação Total de Armas Nucleares.
A sua agenda prevê igualmente encontros bilaterais com ministros dos negócios estrangeiros de vários países de África, Ásia, Américas, Médio Oriente e Europa, para a troca de impressões e informação sobre assuntos de cooperação bilateral e multilateral
