Last year, the 340,000 tonnes of fish caught in 2017.fisheries sector accounted for 10.3 percent of Mozambique’s GDP, Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries Agostinho Mondlane observed during Women’s Day festivities, and women contributed substantially to these results.
The event in question was attended by retired Radio Mozambique announcer Glória Muianga and former deputy environment minister Ana Chichava, who gave a talk about the meaning of April 7.
Gloria Muianga said that women had played a preponderant role, alongside their companions, in the country’s development, while Ana Chichava noted that Mozambican women still face challenges today.
