CIP Mozambique Elections: Podemos-Mondlane accord

The Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly (AR) has scheduled the start of the first ordinary session of the body, in its 10th Legislature, for the 26th of this month.
Twenty-six matters were approved for scrutiny during the approximately three months of debates, including the government’s 2025-2029 Five-Year Program and the respective draft resolution; the proposed law relating to the Economic and Social Plan and State Budget (PESOE) for 2025; the resolution relating to the National Development Strategy (ENDE) 2025-2044; and Information and Questions to the Government.
Spokesperson for the Standing Committee, Manuel Ramessane, told journalists that the session would also consider the Annual Information of the Attorney General of the Republic; the General State Account for 2023; the resolution that elects the members of the Council of State; and the review of the law that approves the Organic Law of the Legislative Assembly and its rules of procedure.
The debate and approval of the draft resolutions that elect the members of the National Defense and Security Council was also scheduled; ratifying the appointment of the President of the Administrative Court and Vice-President of the Supreme Court; the Judge-Advisor of the Constitutional Council, as well as the proposal for activity programs of the Assembly of the Republic and its budget for 2025.
The body will also approve the resolution that elects the members of the Superior Council of the Administrative Judiciary and the National Human Rights Commission.
It is also expected that this session will debate the Information from the Committee on Petitions, Complaints and Claims as well as the draft resolution concerning the creation of the Parliamentary Leagues of Friendship, Solidarity and Cooperation.
