Mozambique: Mondlane, ex-presidents of Colombia, Botswana stopped at Luanda airport

The Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique, in partnership with UBA bank, this Monday handed over a cheque worth two million meticais to families affected by Cyclone Chido in Mecúfi district, Cabo Delgado,
Speaking from her Maputo office, First Lady Isaura Nyusi said the act would help alleviate the suffering of those affected.
“This support is directed to Mecúfi, the region most affected by Cyclone Chido, which caused destruction of infrastructure, dozens of deaths and made thousands homeless. With this gesture, we intend to demonstrate our solidarity in order to alleviate the suffering of our brothers and compatriots,” she said.
The First Lady also called for people to be more attentive to emergency warnings issued by natural disaster management entities, so as to minimise damage and distress.
