Mozambique: Five arrested for theft of medicines in Manica - Watch

Mozambique’s Defence and Security Forces (FDS) have shot dead and wounded a number of terrorists in Malinde, 40 km from the district headquarters town of Mocímboa da Praia in Cabo Delgado province, ‘Carta de Moçambqiue’ reports.
According to military sources present in the theatre of operations, the incident started at about 5:00 p.m. last Sunday, when a group of terrorists estimated to number more than 40 attempted to invade Malinde.
The terrorists started by setting fire to stalls in a local market and some houses before heading towards a FADM naval base in the district. More than 15 terrorists were killed and the rest fled, sources say.
The same sources report that no military personnel were injured or killed, and that the FDS strategy has recently been both offensive and defensive, especially in districts such as Mocímboa da Praia, Macomia, Muidumbe and Quissanga, which are described as critical.
