Fuel retailers acknowledge supply fluctuations but say no 'stock-outs' in Mozambique

Fátima Nampete, a senior executive in the Mineral Resources and Energy sector, was honoured with the “Woman in Mining” award during the Mozambique Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition (MMEC-2025), held on 7 and 8 May in Maputo.
The award is part of the four categories of the MMEC-2025 Awards, which aim to recognise the excellence and contribution of professionals in the hydrocarbons, mining and energy sectors.
Fátima Nampete’s selection reflects recognition for her outstanding work in the mining sector, with a significant impact on productivity in mining and associated companies throughout 2024.
Visibly pleased with the recognition, Nampete encouraged other women to invest in technical and specialised areas, particularly in the mining sector.
With a PhD in Geotechnology, Fátima Nampete is a researcher and author of several scientific publications. She currently works as Head of the Department of Research and Economic Geology at the Geological Research Service of the National Institute of Mines (INAMI).
