The number of families leaving areas experiencing flooding in the district of Magude, in Maputo province, is growing due to the increase in the flow of the Incomati river, following the increase in flows from South Africa.
The Secretary of State for Maputo province, Judith Mussácula, reiterated the government’s availability to assist families affected by the floods.
“Families left these areas, some said they were tired but had the strength to walk. The good thing is that we still have families who are supportive and who received these people and once again we want to salute this solidarity “,Mussácula said.
The situation of floods in Magude district, due to the rise in the flow of the Incomáti, is affecting around 2,500 families. According to the latest update, 500 people were sheltered in three accommodation centres set up in an equal number of schools, by the district government
