Mozambique: Foreign exchange sales between banks plunged 67% last year

The export of cotton fibre from Mozambique will generate US$50 million in revenue for the country by next August, daily newspaper Noticias reported citing government sources.
According to the newspaper, Mozambican producers expect to export 31,000 tons of cotton fibre in 2018, out of a total of 80,000 tons of seed cotton.
In the 2016/2017 agricultural season, seed cotton production totalled 36,000 tons.
Mozambican cotton producers are focusing on the Asian market, which sees increased demand in the third quarter of the year.
