Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the national director of Electrification and Projects at Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), Daniel Cuambe, guaranteed that within three weeks, Muidumbe, the only district still without electricity from the national grid, would be reconnected, as security conditions there continue to improve.
“Of the five districts that were without energy for more than one year, four are now reconnected. We will have restored power to the fifth district by early November. We visited Muidumbe, and there are already signs of the population returning. We believe that the restoration of energy will speed up [the resumption of] life there,” Daniel Cuambe said.
