Mozambique: Mondlane wants party to participate in political dialogue

The trial of 17 individuals arrested in the wake of the Renamo march in the city of Maputo began today. They are accused of the crimes of association to obstruct public roads, possession of homemade bombs and vandalisation of public and private property.
The trial began shortly after 9:00 a.m. this Tuesday at the Second Criminal Section of the Judicial Court of the City of Maputo, in a court session closed to the press, but with relatives of the detainees present in the courtroom.
The defendants’ relatives told journalists that they did not understand the reason for the detentions.
