Lutero Simango reinforced his request for votes today in Quelimane, the capital of Zambézia province, promising to industrialize the province in order to create more jobs.
On the thirty-eighth day of the electoral campaign, Lutero Simango once again marched
through the city of Quelimane this Tuesday (1-10) to remind voters of his governance
promises.
During the march, he interacted with citizens and made promises to transform the province into a development hub for the country.
After walking through the streets of the “city of bicycles” he arrived at the Aquima market, where he promised to lower the prices of essential goods that, in his view, are currently driving up the cost of living.
“In my government and that of MDM, we will lower the prices of essential products. We will reduce the price of sugar, fuel, energy, and even the cost of the internet. We want to bring changes to the country,” Simango promised.
Simango also pledged to industrialize the province. “Here in Zambézia, there are many resources. We want to establish a wood industry to put an end to the export of raw timber. This is the only way we will be able to create more jobs and business opportunities for our youth,” he explained.
Simango further said that he would create industries to process precious stones and other resources, ensuring that the wealth of the province and the country benefits the “owners of the land.” During the rally, Simango also instructed voters on how to cast their vote for him and his party, emphasizing the “luck” of both himself as a presidential candidate and his party being in the first position on the ballot.
In Zambézia, Simango will continue his appeal for votes in Gurué, before heading to
Nampula, with Moma district as his entry point.
