The President of Frelimo, Filipe Nyusi, says that it is necessary to know how to lose, and to avoid making accusations in response to failure. Nyusi understands that no one enters a battle to lose, and the secret is preparation, which is what his party did last year and is doing now.
After winning the elections in the country’s 60 municipalities, the president of Frelimo, Filipe Nyusi, says that his party’s preparation last year was very good, and that this year he will continue to work to make it even better.
“We are working to do better. I think everyone should also be thinking about doing better, so let’s work in this direction to avoid complaints later,” Filipe Nyusi said.
Although everyone is fighting to win, one must, in case of loss, “know how to lose, something which is normal”, he added.
The president of Frelimo was speaking during an event organized by the party, commemorating his birthday, celebrated on February 9th.
With songs, greetings and gifts, Filipe Nyusi’s comrades congratulated him and promised to continue supporting him as President of the Republic in his task of developing the country, in the words of Frelimo secretary general Roque Silva Samuel, representing members of the party.
“The country has been facing many adversities, there are natural disasters after natural disasters, wars after wars, diseases after diseases, but it has never given up,” Roque Silva said. “Continue with this verticality, with the sense of knowing how to serve, in the certainty that, yes, through today’s obstacles, and inch by inch, we will secure the well-being of our people.”
Party members also promised to fine-tune work at the grassroots for victory in the next elections.
Filipe Nyusi turned 65 last Friday.
