Mozambique Elections: Frelimo retains parliamentary majority

The Frelimo party secured 171 seats in the Assembly of the Republic, including one seat from Africa and another from the rest of the world. Meanwhile, PODEMOS obtained 43 seats. Renamo fell to third place with 28 seats, and MDM secured eight.
These numbers are the result of the aggregation of mandates from each province, announced this afternoon by the Constitutional Council during the ceremony for the proclamation and validation of the October 9 election results.
