Mozambique: Emanuel Chaves elected chairman of the Sovereign Wealth Fund supervisory committee
Lusa / Mozambican Foreign Affairs Minister Oldemiro Baloi.
Egypt wants to create a chamber of commerce with Mozambique to serve as a space for business development with a special focus in the extractive sector, Mozambican Foreign Affairs Minister Oldemiro Baloi announced on Wednesday December 9.
“The intention of the Mozambique-Egypt Chamber of Commerce is to harness Mozambique’s potential, particularly in the extractive sector,” said Baloi, speaking to the media after the delivery of credentials of the new Egyptian ambassador in Maputo, Karim Sharif, to President Filipe Nyusi.
In addition to facilitating partnerships in the business field, the Mozambique-Egypt Chamber of Commerce will serve to increase cooperation between the two countries in the health and education sectors, defined by the Mozambican government as priority areas for the country’s development.
“We would also like to reaffirm cooperation in the areas of public administration, agriculture, education and more,” said Baloi, pointing to Egypt’s proximity to Asia as a foundation for Mozambique’s development goals.
“We believe there is much to gain from the experience this country has in the field of economic and business development,” the head of Mozambique diplomacy said.
