Mozambique launches cost-saving hospital digitalization project

The Deputy Director General of the National Institute of Health, Eduardo Samo Gudo, has been elected President of the Southern Africa Regional Technical Advisory Committee of CDC Africa.
The election, for a two-year term, took place in Maputo this Tuesday during the third meeting of the committee, which brought together directors of public health institutes and experts in the area of public health from countries in the region.
Dr Samo Gudo succeeds Dr Tsakani Furumele from South Africa, who has chaired the committee for the past two years.
At his inauguration, Dr Gudo highlighted the public health challenges in the region and recognized the role of the former president, pledging to continue her legacy and contribute to the consolidation of the body.
The CDC Africa Regional Technical Advisory Committee is the body for technical-scientific advice and harmonization of interventions in the field of health security for member states in the region.
The committee met in Maputo on the 5th to the 6th of December with the aim of assessing the progress regarding the establishment of the Africa CDC Southern Africa Regional Collaborating Centre (SA-RCC), an entity for technical-scientific coordination preparing for, responding to and recovering from public health emergencies in the region, and assessing progress in the process of establishing national institutes of public health in member states.
