The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in Mozambique and the Foundation for the Improvement of Business Environment (FAN), in partnership with the Industrial Association of Mozambique (AIMO) will hold the Mozambique-Dubai Business Forum on March 28 this year, against the backdrop of Expo Dubai (the world’s largest exhibition) and with the aim of developing a commercial and institutional exploration initiative between Mozambique and the UAE.
What is the Mozambique-Dubai Business Forum (MDBF)?
Motto: Create Opportunities for the Development of a Sustainable Business Environment between Mozambique and Dubai.
The MDBF is a private sector initiative which aims to showcase the potential of the Mozambican market, both from the point of view of exporting products to the Dubai-UAE market, as well as attracting investment. In this sense, several companies were pre-assessed in a process led by FAN, in order to bring businesses projects with real potential to do business.
The companies pre-selected are from the manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing, tourism and extractive industry sectors.
Strategically, from the point of view both of the national industrialization agenda and the appetite for foreign investment in the industrial sector, AIMO and Moz Parks joined the initiative as partners.
DCCI Moz and FAN sought to further enrich the initiative, bringing in a strong partner from the national financial sector, whose focus is aligned with the overall objectives of the initiative and of the country, namely investment in the productive sector and financial structuring with a focus on local business.
Banco Nacional de Investimento – BNI (National Investment Bank) fits this logic perfectly. DCCI Moz and FAN consider it the ideal partner to represent the national financial sector in the partnership.
The expectation is that BNI will be able to develop a commercial/financial relationship with the national companies that take their businesses/projects to the MDBF, giving them greater chances of success.
When, where and how?
The MDBF will take place on March 28, 2022, at the DCCI headquarters in Dubai, a courtesy of DCCI in providing the venue for the event at no cost to the initiative.
The event is expected to host between 50 to 100 people in intensive networking and business meetings with DCCI support to attract relevant stakeholders to the sectors that Mozambique takes to Dubai.
National companies that will be present in Dubai will do so at their own cost, paying a symbolic In-Person Ticket of MZN7,500.00. Those who cannot attend can still have their businesses/projects showcased in a ‘Deal Gallery’, with a projection in the event room.
What to expect from MDBF?
The following benefits will accrue to participants:
