The barbaric actions perpetrated by terrorists in the village of Xitaxi, in Xitunda administrative post, Muidumbe district, which took the lives of 50 young people for refusing to join the terrorist group, are reflected in paintings by Doroteia Alberto Chipande, exhibited in Heroes Square in Pemba.
Doroteria Chipande also presented the population of Cabo Delgado with paintings of plastic works of ‘Dinembo’, a tradition of face tattooing which generally depicts elements of nature and symbols with deep cultural meanings.
After a guided tour, Governor Valige Tauabo said that the works convey messages of resilience, courage and determination of women and the population, victims of terrorist actions.
Governor Tauabo encouraged Doroteia Alberto Chipande and all those who directly and indirectly join the cause of the fight for peace and tranquillity for the population of Cabo Delgado.
