The Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume, on Friday visited the Army Practical School in Munguíne, Manhiça district, and the Practical School of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique, in Matalane, Marracuene district, both units responsible for the basic training of Defence and Security Forces personnel.
The minister’s visit aimed to assess the infrastructural conditions of the two institutions, as part of the preparations for the incorporation of young men into the Armed Forces of Defence of Mozambique (FADM) and the Civic Service of Mozambique.
On the ground, the head of the defence department confirmed that work was progressing as planned, and recommended that the interventions still underway be accelerated in order to ensure that infrastructure was ready. In fact, instructions were given to assign resident engineers to both schools, with the mission of ensuring that established deadlines were met.
Minister Chume’s visit also made it possible to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of the Interior, within the scope of the shared use of training facilities, whenever necessary.
