Mozambique’s Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA) yesterday hosted an Algerian business delegation led by Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting follows the visit of the President of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, to Algeria last September, during which he highlighted the need to reinforce bilateral relations in the economic domain.
The Algerian business delegation expressed interest in sharing their experiences and knowledge transfer in strategic areas where Algeria has potential, including energy and the pharmaceutical industry.
For his part, the Vice-President of the CTA, Onório Manuel, highlighted Mozambique’s potential, particularly in the sectors of natural resources, energy and agriculture, inviting Algerian businesspeople to invest in Mozambique and to participate in the 20th Annual Private Sector Conference (CASP), to be held in Maputo from 12 to 14 November 2025.
Onório Manuel reaffirmed the CTA’s willingness to work with CREA in promoting reciprocal business missions such as business forums, business and investment opportunities, and partnerships in sectors of common interest, such as energy, health and technology.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the CTA and CREA aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation is planned as part of the visit.
