The Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) has held a meeting with Kenmare representative Gareth Clifton, to discuss the possibility of implementing structured business training and certification programmes to facilitate the effective integration of national companies into the extractive industry value chains.
CTA vice-president Amâncio Gume highlighted the private sector’s commitment to promoting economic inclusion through the effective implementation of local content.
Considering the ongoing challenges in effectively integrating Mozambican companies into the extractive industry value chains, the CTA proposed a partnership with Kenmare Resources and other stakeholders to develop a business training and certification programme, led by CTA, with clear goals and a focus on preparing local suppliers to meet the sector’s demand. This programme would aim to strengthen Mozambican companies and increase their participation in the national economy.
Active participation in CASP
During the meeting, the CTA vice-president also shared information about the 20th Annual Private Sector Conference (CASP), which will take place from 12 to 14 November 2025, under the theme “Reform to Compete: Moving Towards Economic Relaunch”.
The CTA invited Kenmare to actively participate in the various activities that will take place as part of CASP, and the invitation was accepted.
