Mozambique Elections: Podemos calls for recount of votes - AIM report

Municipal elections were annulled in the municipalities of Cuamba, in Niassa province, and Chókwè, in Gaza province.
In Cuamba, the District Judicial Court decided to annul the election because it found that there were defects that could affect the electoral results. The decision resulted from an appeal filed by Renamo.
In Chókwè, the electoral litigation appeal was filed by the New Democracy (ND) party. After analysing the arguments of the appeal, the Chókwè District Court came to the conclusion that there is evidence of electoral illegality, in addition to the Court finding that the party was not accredited to supervise the process.
Meanwhile, in the City of Maputo, the Nlhamankulo District Court ordered the District Elections Commission (CDE) to hand over the original ‘editais’ [result sheets] that were used for the intermediate count of the election results. The court order dated October 15th gave the CDE a 10-hour deadline. from the moment the notification was received, to comply with the court’s decision.
