In Maputo, over 1,000 people are from Wednesday expected to take part in the Annual Private Sector Conference (CASP), Mozambique’s largest gathering of businesspeople, the Confederation of Mozambican Economic Associations (CTA) said in a statement.
CTA, the country’s biggest business organisation, said that over the three days of the conference businesses with a combined turnover of $990 million (€893.5 million) would be present, from the agriculture, energy, tourism, water infrastructure and transport sectors.
The event is to take place in hybrid format – in-person and online – and will comprise three components: promotion of public-private dialogue, investment conference and business rooms.
The CASP, which is taking place for a 17th time after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will have a high level panel, six plenary panels, three parallel panels, four bilateral meetings, 11 round tables and 25 speakers.
The highlight will be a debate chaired by Mozambique’s president, Filipe Nyusi, and the signing of a memorandum between the private sector and the government, for the implementation of the Private Sector Recovery Plan.
