Mozambique reports 20 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the country, bringing the cumulative total of confirmed cases to 859, the Ministry of Health announced today (June 28). The country registers 228 recoveries, five deaths from COVID-19, with two other deaths which authorities attribute to other reasons than the novel coronavirus. The number of active case stands at 624.
The new cases reported today are in isolation at home and were detected in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Sofala, Gaza and Maputo.
From Saturday (June 27) to Sunday (June 28), 631 suspected cases were tested in public sector laboratories in the country,
Of the samples tested in the last 24 hours, 161 came from Cabo Delgado Province, four (04) from Nampula, four (04) from Zambézia, 97 from Sofala, two (02) from Inhambane, 44 from Gaza, 234 from Maputo Province and 85 from Maputo City.
Currently the country has a cumulative number of 859 positive cases registered, of which 786 are locally transmitted and 73 are imported cases.
In the last 24 hours, Mozambique recorded yet three more cases of patients considered as having fully recovered from COVID-19.
Therefore, on Sunday (June 28), Mozambique has 228 fully recovered patients, five (05) deaths due to COVID-19 and two (2) deaths from other causes and five hospitalised patients.
