President Filipe Nyusi has announced that Mozambique’s cooking gas supply capacity will be increased by 60,000 tons in the next quarter, as part of the push to find solutions to supply 60% of domestic energy consumption needs.
Filipe Nyusi said that, to this end, a factory was being built in Inhassoro in Inhambane province, which would start operating next year.
Speaking in Tete this Saturday, President Nyusi said the unit would bring a triple advantage, highlighting the replacement of imports of this resource and the reduction of pressure on the production of charcoal.
Regarding universal access to electricity, Filipe Nyusi announced that 518,577 new grid connections were made in the country this year.
Of these, 362,896 were to the national grid, and the others to free-standing systems.
