The Mozambican Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE) yesterday announced a reduction of almost 7% in the price of cooking gas, while maintaining at current levels the price of all other fuels.
“Import invoices show a downward trend to levels which have allowed a reduction,” AREBNE chairman Paulo da Graça writes in a statement to the media.
Cooking gas goes from 102.02 to 95.04 meticais per kilogram as of today, Friday 16-12.
The approved prices, including those which remain unchanged, “take into account the mitigation measures approved by the Government”, the regulatory authority added in its statement.
“In general, the international market for oil derivatives is still considered fragile and unpredictable,” it concludes.
