The land connection between the city of Nampula and Nacala-Porto, as well as with the coastal districts of the Island of Mozambique, Mossuril and Memba, has been restored by a road diversion opened in the Anchilo area, where the National Road Number One (N1) was cut following Tropical Storm Jude.
The development was announced yesterday by the spokesperson of the Provincial Executive Council, Williamo Tuzine, at the end of another government session.
The opening of a detour in the affected area restores the circulation of people and vehicles, contributing to the gradual restoration of economic activity.
Traffic between the districts of Rapale and Mecubúri, which had also been interrupted, was also restored. The road closures in several sections had created huge queues of vehicles transporting people and goods, including fuel.
